Interesting. Made me look further into it and found out that she also had a dog named Caesar in 1953's "The Case of the Red-Headed Corpse". I'm wondering if Brownie is the adult version of the puppy she received from Lamont in the Christmas episode of 1939 "The Stockings Were Hung". Apparently she also had a cat in '44. Thanks for bringing this interesting character trait back to my mind.
